📌 What is PTE?

·  PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is an English language proficiency test used for studying abroad, work, and migration.

·  It is computer-based and powered by AI scoring – meaning there’s no human examiner judging your answers.

·  Accepted by universities, colleges, professional bodies, and immigration authorities (like Australia, UK, Canada for SDS, New Zealand).

📌 Types of PTE

·  PTE Academic – for study, work, and migration. (Main version)

·  PTE Academic UKVI – for UK visas (same test, different registration).

·  PTE Home – for family/settlement visas (simpler test).

📌 Test Format (PTE Academic)

Duration: About 2 hours (fast compared to IELTS 3 hrs)

1. Speaking & Writing (54–67 min)

• Overall score range: 10–90
• Scoring is automated by AI based on:
  • Content (correctness & relevance)
  • Form (structure, word limit)
  • Enabling skills (grammar, vocabulary, spelling, pronunciation, fluency)

Approximate Band Comparison:

• PTE 86–90 ≈ IELTS Band 9
• PTE 76–85 ≈ IELTS Band 8
• PTE 59–75 ≈ IELTS Band 6.5–7.5
• PTE 43–58 ≈ IELTS Band 5.5–6
